The city of Burnaby is located east of Vancouver in the lower mainland of British Columbia and only 30 km from the US border (Blaine, WA). It has a population of 223,200 people and growing. Burnaby has a very diverse community, with a large number of residents born outside of Canada.

Burnaby is also located in the economic hub of western Canada. Alongside Vancouver, the city is home to many major Canadian employers and top Canadian Universities and Colleges. Major sports fields, golf courses, bicycle and nature trails, urban plazas and botanical gardens are also an integral part of Burnaby's landscape.

There are many great off campus rentals in and around BCIT and, to save costs, perhaps consider a roommate?

Over 13,000 apartments can be found throughout the city of Burnaby, not including individually owned rentals. With thousands of buildings to choose from in nearly every neighbourhood, like most other Lower Mainland cities, selecting an apartment in Burnaby will really come down to location and budget. For example, if you want to be near the British Columbia Institute of Technology, look along Willingdon Avenue or Royal Oak Avenue. You will also find some buildings on Boundary Road.

Many BCIT students also look to rent houses, townhouses and basement suites rather than apartments. If you want to live near the largest mall in British Columbia, look for an apartment near Metropolis at Metrotown in and around Hazel Street, Newton Street, Bonsor Avenue, Silver Avenue or Willingdon Avenue.

BCIT Students, Faculty & Staff

Utilizing the official BCIT Off-Campus Housing database of online rentals, students can review various types of property such as houses, apartments, shared accommodations, townhouses, private homes, room & board, home-stay, and several other popular property categories.

It is free for students, faculty & staff to post a listing. New listings are posted in real-time so check back often.

Properties and landlords listed on the website have been reviewed for compliance with certain minimum standards but not to guarantee them in any way. While there are other sources of information available to you about housing, including newspapers, other websites and recommendations of other students, listings and landlords that do not appear on the website have either not been reviewed or have been denied listing for non-compliance with the minimum standards.
